Who We Need

Nomis Solutions is seeking an exceptional Modeling Analyst to build best-in-class analytical models for our clients. You are curious, collaborative, structured, detail oriented and a good team player. You are passionate about big data analytics and statistical models, and have experience developing and deploying models, preferably in a financial services context. You know the math and you can translate complex analytical results into business insights. You can zoom out to understand the big picture and zoom in to any level of detail. You are meticulous, clear in your approach and analysis, and possess the ability to critique your work so you can better explain it to others. What you will do

Develop predictive models. You will develop predictive models to forecast consumer demand for various financial services products which are used as part of our software to price billions of dollars every month. You will ensure health of statistical models through a regimented model validation process and confirm models delivered through the Nomis platform are performant and applicable through strong Internal Model Risk Management. You will work with client Model Risk Management through the model acceptance process.

Earn trust. You will foster trusted working relationships internally and with our clients, understand their objectives and challenges and build models to solve them. You will translate unstructured business problems into actionable analyses for non-technical teams. You will package findings into market facing communications that showcase our value and entice prospects to purchase Nomis offerings.

Be a subject matter expert. You will develop your knowledge of our solutions and the banking industry. You will research, design, and prototype new analytical product offerings for our customers. You will build the necessary tools to develop high-quality models and demonstrate a strong understanding of banking structures and model risk management expectations.

What you bring

Must-Haves:

• 3+ years of experience in the development and implementation of econometric and forecasting models in a business context
• Proficiency in Python and SQL. We need to analyze data in a routinized and production-ready way, so building tools to do analysis is essential
• Experience with linear/logistic regressions, time series forecasting, experimental test and design, and ML algorithms.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of work, and drive projects from inception to completion.
• Effective communication skills to persuade and articulate findings to various stakeholders.
• Capability to translate complex analytical results into actionable business insights and tell a compelling story with data.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Strong understanding of banking structures and rational business insights
• Familiarity with modeling standards and expectations in a banking/financial institution context, especially regulatory expectations like CCAR/CECL.
• Familiarity with best practice code and model management tools.
• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, statistics, economics, operations research, engineering, management analytics, or management science, or relevant professional experience as a data scientist.

The expected salary range for this role is $95,000 to $120,000 USD for US.
